Online training session: Enhancing Broadcasting: an overview – 2 October 2020

 

The Broadcasting Authority is organising an online training session as part of the Authority’s strategy to reach out to all stakeholders in the industry. The session entitled ‘Enhancing Broadcasting: an overview will be held online:

10:00 to 12noon

 

The speaker is Mr Terence Carlisle, a former producer at BBC and the topics include:

  • Structuring a programme (focusing on: News; Sports News; Music Programmes; and lifestyle programmes)
  • The importance of continuity and cross promotion
  • The necessity for producers’ guidelines in the current cultural climate and Community listening to establish feedback on programmes via social media from listeners/viewers

 

Terence Carlisle graduated from the University of Stirling with a BA (Hons) in Marketing. He began his media career with J. Walter Thompson (London) as a Television Media Buyer on the Kellogg's account before moving to Carat Global Media where he progressed to Media Manager. An opportunity arose with BBC and he joined them as a Scheduler. Terence developed a keen interest in creativity and media production and changed direction, securing a role as Assistant Producer with BBC Sport, eventually progressing to Television Promotions Producer across all genres. Having spent 15 years at the BBC, Terence to try life overseas and moved to Gibraltar where he worked in igaming as a Brand Manager across all offline and online media. Given the changing media landscape, he recently achieved a Diploma in Digital Marketing and is looking to apply his skills to the Malta Broadcast Industry.
