Suspension of transmission of Nationwide Radio Stations
The Broadcasting Authority would like to inform the general public that due to testing and maintenance works on present ground-transmitting equipment used at the Għargħur Transmission Tower all nationwide radio stations will be put off-air. This series of tests is a very important exercise that the Authority is conducting on its equipment and which will yield valuable information on the transmitting site.

Barring any unforeseen circumstances, radio stations will be off air on three consecutive nights of Wednesday 10th, Thursday 11th, and Friday 12th November 2010 between 11:00pm and 5:00am of the following morning.
All works and tests that necessitate switch-off have been earmarked t0 be performed during the night so as to minimize as much as possible the disruption of the broadcasting schedules of nationwide radio stations. While apologizing for any inconvenience caused, the Broadcasting Authority also notes that the security guards on duty at Gharghur have been given strict instructions to prohibit entrance to anyone who is not a registered user for the Gharghur Transmitting Facility. No other persons will be allowed admission to the site.
